Terms of service
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms are between Colligo Infotech ("we", "us"), a sole proprietorship in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, which provides Ekvasa, and the housing society, RWA or association that subscribes ("the society"), and apply to everyone who uses Ekvasa through it (residents, their families, guards and office staff, "users"). The society is our customer: it chose Ekvasa and agreed its plan with us in writing. Users use Ekvasa because their society chose it, and pay us nothing. Where the society’s written agreement with us says something different, the agreement applies between us and that society.
1. The service
Ekvasa is an online service for running a housing society: gate and visitors, maintenance billing, accounts, notices, helpdesk, chats, amenities and parking, through the Ekvasa app and the web console. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a core feature the society relies on without notice.
2. Accounts
- The society appoints its admins, who approve who joins and give roles. The society is responsible for the people it lets in and the roles it gives.
- The person who accepts Ekvasa for a society must be authorised by its committee or managing body to do so.
- When the society office or a resident adds someone’s details (residents from the society’s list of homes, family members, tenants or daily staff), they must be allowed to share them for the society’s use.
- Users must be 18 or older. A child under 18 uses Ekvasa only when their parent or guardian in the home adds them; that parent or guardian accepts these terms for the child and is responsible for the child’s use.
- Users must not pretend to be someone else, use another person’s login, or make a false complaint or a false request about personal data.
- Everyone who signs in agrees to these terms and to our privacy policy. Someone who does not agree should not use Ekvasa.
- Users keep their sign-in codes and PINs private and tell the society or us of any misuse.
- Information entered must be true; the society may remove anyone who misuses the service.
- Anyone can delete their own account at any time, in the app or at /delete-account. A society whose only admin leaves has no admin until Ekvasa helps it choose one. The society keeps its own records.
3. Fees and payment
- The society pays the fees, for the period and on the terms agreed in writing with us, plus GST as applicable. Any free or introductory period is as agreed in writing.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay, or made as the agreement allows; invoices and receipts are issued by Colligo Infotech.
- Fees change only as the written agreement allows, never for a period already paid for.
- Auto-pay. Where the society sets up auto-pay, it approves a mandate through Razorpay, by card or UPI. Its bank or UPI app tells it before each debit, as the RBI’s rules require. The society can cancel auto-pay at any time in the console, or cancel the mandate in its bank or UPI app. That stops only the automatic debits: invoices still come, to be paid by hand, until the society stops Ekvasa (section 9).
- If an invoice stays unpaid, we remind the society’s admins. After the grace days, the office’s access is limited to paying. If it is still unpaid after that, Ekvasa is paused for the society: the gate and SOS keep working, but residents cannot raise complaints, send chat messages, vote, book or create guest passes until the balance is paid. We remove a paused society only after notice, as the privacy policy says.
Payments and refunds. Fees are due in advance for each period (a month or a year) and are not refundable. The society may stop Ekvasa at any time by writing to us (section 9); the service then ends with the period already paid, no invoice is issued after that, and nothing already paid is returned. If we find a clear error, such as a payment taken twice, we may issue a refund at our own discretion; we then email the society and the invoice becomes due again. More in our refund and cancellation policy.
4. Society money
Maintenance and other charges are paid by residents directly to the society’s own bank account: by UPI, cheque or cash, or, where the society has set it up, online inside the app through the society’s own Razorpay account. We do not hold, collect or guarantee the society’s money; the society is responsible for its accounts, receipts, taxes and its Razorpay account.
For dues paid online, the society is the merchant: receipts, refunds and disputes about dues are between the resident and the society. Card and UPI details are handled by Razorpay and the banks; Ekvasa never sees them.
5. Data
The society’s data belongs to the society. We use it only to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy; it is never sold, and never used to target advertising. We give the society a copy of its data on request, during the service and for 30 days after it ends.
The society authorises Ekvasa to open and correct its records in recorded support sessions, without asking each time, to support it, set it up or protect the service, as the privacy policy describes. Ekvasa uses service providers under contract (privacy policy, section 4). We return or delete the society’s data when the service ends (section 9) and help the society answer its members’ requests about their data.
For the society’s records, Ekvasa acts for the society and:
- uses them only to provide the service and as the society instructs, never for purposes of its own;
- keeps the safeguards in section 5 of the privacy policy, and lets the Ekvasa team open them only as section 4 of the privacy policy describes;
- tells the society without delay of a breach that affects them (privacy policy, section 9);
- helps the society answer its members’ requests about their data (privacy policy, section 7);
- uses only the service providers listed in section 4 of the privacy policy, under contract, and adds a new one to that list before it receives the society’s data;
- gives the society a copy of its records, and deletes them, as section 9 says.
Users keep their rights in what they post. They allow Ekvasa to store it, show it to the people it is meant for, send it, and keep it for the periods in the privacy policy, only to provide the service.
6. Fair use
Users must not use Ekvasa to post, upload, send or share anything that:
- belongs to someone else and they have no right to share;
- is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, invades someone’s privacy (bodily privacy included), insults or harasses anyone because of their gender, is racially or ethnically offensive, relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling, or promotes hatred between religions or castes to incite violence;
- harms a child in any way;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other right;
- misleads people about where a message came from, or knowingly spreads information that is false or misleading;
- impersonates another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with other countries or public order, incites an offence, obstructs an investigation, or insults another country;
- carries a virus or other code meant to harm a device, data or the service;
- is an online game, or an advertisement for one, that Indian law does not allow;
- breaks any law in force.
Users must also not harass anyone, send spam or advertising in chats, share another person’s details or photos without their permission, try to reach data they are not allowed to see, copy or scrape the service, or disrupt it.
Ekvasa has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. Anyone can report a message, comment or note. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours: content that breaks these rules is removed, and the member who posted it can be blocked or removed from the society’s chats. Every report is acknowledged in the app at once. A report of an intimate image, nudity or someone pretending to be another person reaches Ekvasa and the society office at once, is acted on within 2 hours, and is always decided by Ekvasa. At least every three months, and whenever these terms, the privacy policy or the chat rules change, every user is reminded of these rules in the app (and by email, for people with an email address, as the day’s sending limit allows).
Ekvasa does not read chats, except a message someone reports to it: before the report is sent, the app tells the person reporting that the message (for a chat, with up to 2 messages before it) will be shared with Ekvasa to review it. Ekvasa acts on what is reported to it and on lawful orders. When these rules are broken, we may remove the content, or suspend or end the account, at once. Breaking the law can lead to a penalty or punishment under the law, and offences that the law requires to be reported (for example under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 or the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012) are reported to the authorities. To complain about content, tap Report in the app or write to the grievance officer (privacy policy, section 10).
We may also block an account or switch off a login for fraud, misuse, security or a legal reason, and lift it again. We may suspend a society, and remove a suspended one as the privacy policy says.
7. Availability and support
We aim to keep Ekvasa available at all times and fix problems quickly, but the service depends on the internet, phones and third parties and may sometimes be unavailable. The gate should keep a simple manual fallback (a register) for such times. Support is by email and, in the app and the web console, through the help centre and chat.
Ekvasa is not a security, emergency or medical service. SOS, the child exit alert, patrols, calls and notifications depend on phones, networks and people answering them. In an emergency, call 112.
8. Liability
Ekvasa helps the society run its operations; it does not replace its guards, staff or security arrangements. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the society paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect losses.
Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or takes away a user’s rights as a consumer.
9. Ending
The society may stop at any time, without giving a reason, by writing to support@ekvasa.com from its registered email; the service ends with the period already paid, and no invoice is issued after that (see section 3). Cancelling auto-pay on its own does not stop the service. We may end the service for non-payment after notice, or at once for serious misuse. After the service ends, we give the society a copy of its data on request for 30 days, and we delete the society’s data when the society asks us to in writing, except what the law requires us to keep.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are first raised with us at support@ekvasa.com; if not resolved within 30 days, the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat have jurisdiction. This does not take away anyone’s right to go to a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
11. Changes to these terms
We tell the society’s admins of a change at least 7 days before it applies; using Ekvasa after that is agreement to it. A society that does not agree may end the service (section 9). Every user is also told of the change in the app (section 6).
12. The app on the App Store and Google Play
Where the Ekvasa app is downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between the user (or the society) and Colligo Infotech only. Apple and Google are not parties to them, and are not responsible for the app, for its support or maintenance, or for claims about it; Ekvasa is, as these terms say. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms for the iPhone app and may enforce them against the user.
13. Contact
Colligo Infotech, A-606, Prahlad Nagar Trade Center, Vejalpur, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380051. Email support@ekvasa.com. Complaints about content or personal data go to the grievance officer (privacy policy, section 10).
14. General
If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term at once does not waive it. We may transfer these terms to whoever takes over the Ekvasa business (for example, a company the owner forms), and we tell the society’s admins first; a society or user may transfer them only with our written agreement. Neither side is responsible for a delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, such as a natural disaster, a widespread failure of the internet, power or a provider, or a government order. If this English version and a translation differ, the English version applies.
